We believe technology should give people more control over their work, not quietly take control away from them. That means being clear about how our systems work, protecting personal information, avoiding manipulative design, and giving customers practical control over their data and applications.
We are building gavAI as a sustainable business, but growth and profit are not the only measures we use. We also consider whether our products create lasting value for customers, their users, employees, and the communities they serve.
Our commitments are straightforward:
- We protect customer data and collect only what is needed.
- We explain important system behavior and keep people responsible for consequential decisions.
- We do not use dark patterns or sell surveillance as a business model.
- We design for portability and avoid unnecessary lock-in.
- We test our systems, document important decisions, and acknowledge failures when they occur.
- We aim to make capable software available to organizations that do not have the resources to build everything themselves.
- We will continue to review the wider effects of automation, including its impact on workers and the environment.
- We will not get every decision right. Our responsibility is to make those decisions carefully, be open about the tradeoffs, and improve when the evidence shows that we should.
